Certified EMDR Therapist

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) is an evidence based trauma therapy for treating areas like anxiety, trauma, and phobias. It helps the brain work through areas that in the past it got stuck on and reduces how upsetting those events are and helps us make sense of what happened to us and why our brain, mind, and body responds they way it does sometimes. This can be done through weekly sessions or through EMDR Intensives.

TFCBT

Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is an evidence based method of treating traumas that specifically focuses on doing joint sessions with the child or teen that is experiencing emotional or behavioral difficulties due to trauma and their caregiver, to learn skills to cope with their trauma, make sense of their story, and develop skills for the future.

Play Therapy

Play therapy represents a unique form of treatment that is not only geared toward children, but is translated into a language children understand and use often- the language of play. Play therapy is a type of therapy designed for children ages 3- 12, but can also help those that are older and have difficulty expressing themselves. The therapist encourages the child to explore life events which often includes role playing using toys to represent the stressors or traumas they have been through and how they are coping.

Art Therapy

Art therapy involves the use of creative techniques such as drawing, painting, collage, coloring, or sculpting to help people express themselves through art and examining the emotions and the story behind the art. With the guidance of an art therapist, clients can come to a better understanding of their feelings, thoughts, and behaviors so they can resolve deeper issues.
